Fantastic, Steve. What a punch to find Geordie in my mind so early in the morning. That's a charge. Cheers!

What a band. What a story. What an immaculate guitarist with such nuanced physical touch and sense of groove/riff. Eloquently “Mean…” if you know what I mean!

Pure gratitude for this piece of Musical Chairs. Fantastic stuff.

"Killing Joke's founder members' attempt to summon new recruits in a black magic ritual may have appeared far-fetched."

Nah-- typical rock band talent search, I'd say... 😈😅

Our kid got me into Killing Joke, such a great band and not afraid to do hits, dub, great riffs, oddness yet throughout it all Geordie always looked effortlessly cool, It was Jaz you couldn’t keep your eyes off live but boy, was that band working hard behind him

As a student in the late 70s Two singles dominated my record player - Give Me Everything from Magazine and War Dance / Pssyche from Killing Joke with Pssyche being easily my favourite Killing Joke choice . Thanks for the reminder Steve 😎👍

The Metallica cover was my intro; suppose I was in 8th grade. By the time I was able to acquire it I’d moved on a bit. Roll the calendar forward to 2019 and I saw them open for Tool. Never miss an opener on a Tool tour. Looking back I’m now mystified why I’d not gotten into to them as a teenager. Head space and timing is everything.

So much influence on so many genres, never mind bands

As a metalhead punk teenager of the time, I loved Killing Joke. Like Motörhead, they straddled the worlds of punk and metal perfectly without being either.
