What I really want to know is did Chris let them put his record sleeves on their bedroom wall?

Lovely. Have fun at Oasis.

Over here we’re still in the go against everything my parents like phase.

No double sided tape involved - she has acrylic shelves!! She now has my old turntable and about 20 of my records in her room. Next gig for the two of us being Fontaines DC & Kneecap in Belfast - very proud dad 😀

One of the great joys in becoming a step dad in my forties, is going to gigs with my adult stepdaughter. We saw The Fall numerous times and are sad we won’t see the great Mark E Smith in action anymore. We’ve seen Half Man Half Biscuit many times too. We’ve just booked to see them in Nottingham in 2026. We will be down the front waving our Joy Division Oven Gloves. My stepdaughter is 6 feet tall and I enjoy it when she, unknowingly, pisses off blokes at gigs by standing in front of them.

I’ll say it again… nothing quietly swells me more with pride inside then to pick up my 13 yr old’s Beats while she is reading and hear the extended version of Hunter and the Hunted…purely of her own volition…

Loved this! It's a joy to go to gigs with our boys, gift eachother merch and hear them walk around the house singing like their dad did when they were wee.

Very correct! My daughter is nearly 4 years old and developing a healthy appreciation for punk (from me) and disco (from my wife) in equal measure, and she is fascinated by vinyl records spinning on the platter and the big, bold art. Music truly is a generational gift and a communal gateway to familial bonding.

Robyn impressed that she maybe gets a sideward mention here? Our kids daughters are called Emily & Alice, no coincidence that that’s two Sisters references….

Oh yes, mate - that was Robyn! Nearly mentioned down the front at Warpaint too!

We are slowly filtering into the overlap Venn diagram, last week watching the sheer delight on Esmé’s face as she listened to the Wombats, makes me chuckle as me n my sister saw them in the late 90s 😘😘we are off to see the The Royston club in October together too 💗💗Esme also says if your nephew drops out can she be youth substitute please for Oasis as she tried and failed to get tickets 😘😘

This week my brother got the thumbs-up from my nephew for us to take him to see Metallica next summer (ticket acquisition permitting) for his first gig at nearly 13. I've recommended ear defenders. (Glad it's not Oasis tbh).

Music has a right to children, as someone once said...

Ha … like it

If the words …. "OK, and today children, we're going to listen to Led Zeppelin" …. had been uttered in the classroom that would have been an interesting day … 😁
