Lovely piece, Steve, sound like you gave your mate a fitting send-off. Many years ago I was involved in choosing the music for a friend's funeral. It was a difficult day of course but after suitably low-key songs by Leonard Cohen and The Jayhawks, we ended with Blitzkrieg Bop which at least put a smile on everyone's face as we came out.
I’m sorry for your loss, Steve. Chinny sounds like a top bloke.
As for La Ritournelle… it’s one of those tracks I remember hearing for the first time years ago and wondering where it had been my whole life. Sublime. And I can imagine how moving it would have been last Friday.
I was away so couldn’t be there on Friday - sounds like Chinny had a good send off … you’re so right that music continues to surprise and enrich us through the gift of discovery - good piece again Steve 👍
Cool .. pressing ▶️. TY.
