Regret that I didn't see the Hidden Gem during my forays into Manchester city centre when I lived in Lancashire. But I can remedy not knowing the Chameleons. Now rocking to their 1985 Camden Place live videos. Love their sound.
Not familiar with this band at all. I’ve quickly been sampling their debut and at first listen it’s stunning! I’ll be on a flight in a few hrs and have downloaded it to listen more closely on the plane.
Yes for certain, Mark Burgess is amazing. I have met him a few times. In 2010 was the last time I saw him, he was touring with Chameleons Vox and I was doing veejay work for a cable access show. I got to interview him, a hero of mine and my ex-husband. I first talked to him on the phone and got emotional because his music meant so much to me and of course it reminded me of my previous marriage. The interview was great and the publisher sent me a book and a guitar pick in a pick holder. I still was partying then and I remember after the show was wild…that was the last time. I think I will look him up again on FB, he was fans of Chris’s band.
I love rediscovering the music you suggest. It's not always my favourite, but as I have aged my tastes have changed and bands I used to not like so much I now listen to. I remember The Chameleons but was never into them. Thanks for sharing. Listening now.

Glad to hear it!

Great stuff! Best debut ever for me, including Led Zep 1 and they're my favourite band!

Well now…wonderful words, see you Saturday for the gathering. Is it just a trick of the light!
Looking forward to it mate!
Spot on as ever, they do have a special place in my heart, those songs bring back so many memories of when we thought these times would last forever
Thanks mate!
Great words once again kid 👍
Cheers kid!
I was marooned in Monkeyland once, too.
❤️
You there tomorrow? x
Sadly not. I have a Xmas party. I will have a Chameleons day today instead.
Not me sorry!
